Lumentum is seeking an experienced Sr. Test Engineer to join the Communication and Commercial Optical Products business unit. In this role the candidate will be responsible for determining most effective ways to test advanced optical components through focus on new testing systems and processes using hardware, software, real time data acquisition, and programming knowledge. The candidate will interface with different groups within Lumentum, including product engineers, R&D engineers, equipment engineers, manufacturing process engineers, to maintain and improve legacy and new product introductions.
Role and Responsibility
- Report and monitor daily yields of critical test operations if any downward trend is noted, appropriate actions must be taken.
- Tester and test process setup, qualification, and implementation. Install the approved software on the test equipment. Tester GR&R and Correlation.
- Develops test solutions to technical problems.
- To enhance product performance through testing. Analyze and evaluate test results to identify areas for improvement and drive product development.
- Lead in the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
- Plan and execute on schemes to improve test yield and reliability.
- SPC and daily tester control.
- Issue documents such as process flow, work instruction, control plan, visual aids and SPC
- Ensure compliance to quality assurance processes and industry best practice.
- Supervise technicians to perform daily technical support.
- Provide training to technician and operators.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Environment, with a background in Test Engineering, Test Software, Test Development, Debugging, and Failure Analysis.
- Experience in set up and qualify test process including new test software, hardware and test process qualification and implementation, GR&R and Correlation.
- Experience in advanced manufacturing environment. Able to improve test process aiming for better product performance and manufacturing productivity.
- Programming skill on LabVIEW, JMP and Minitab is preferable.
- Excellent problem identification and troubleshooting skills. Excellent, self-starter and team player with good analytical skill.
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, mechanical and mechatronics
- Knowledge on manufacturing control techniques (SPC, Cpk, QCFC, FMEA).
- Good command in English communication reading, writing, and speaking.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering background (Electronics, Electrical, Telecom, computer) or related field.
