Lifestyle Reporter (Freelance)

We are looking for a dynamic lifestyle reporter to join our multi-national team across Asia, reporting snappy and hyperlocal news about lifestyle, fashion, environmental, Web 3.0, and foodie topics. We expect you to be creative, culturally aware in Hong Kong, and have a strong insight into the digital marketing space locally. Hyper-local through digital and social media, you will enrich our users’ experience through high-quality articles and all manners of multimedia content covering lifestyle: buzzy listicles, in-depth guides, thought-provoking exclusive features, and personal interviews. As an early employee at The Beat Asia, you will play a key role in the development of how our magazine will grow in the continent.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit punch short-form content for ads, social media and email; long-form content for articles and research.
• Create and optimise local and regional content calendars
• Develop and implement content and campaign strategy to drive traffic, engagement and sales.
• Create and oversee production - photography, graphics, video and audio content
• Optimise content for SEO
• Stay abreast of marketing and media trends and bring fresh ideas for the business
• Assist team with PR and communications including media interviews, events and influencers
• Create digital content for web, emails, etc
• Maintain a consistent tone across all channels, and ensure content produced editorials meet brand guidelines

Skills and Requirements

• At least 1-2 years of experience as a digital content creator, writer, journalist or editor producing English digital content for the local Hong Kong audience.
• Degree in journalism, writing, marketing, or related discipline.
• Creative with a strong sense of brand aesthetics
• Digitally savvy, creative, love working in a team.
• Self-motivated, not afraid to learn and try new things.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet critical deadlines; can manage time and priorities well.
